Andersen hires Pedro de la Iglesia as tax partner

Andersen has hired Pedro de la Iglesia as Partner in the tax department of its Madrid office. His arrival strengthens the department’s financial sector tax practice and supports the development of its Operational Taxes area, which is increasingly relevant for banks, capital markets players and insurers, among other financial market participants. Ana María Castaño joins the team alongside him as director, with experience in the same specialization.

The hire fits the growth strategy of the firm, led by José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen Iberia, which is based on hyperspecialization and on advising the financial sector in adapting processes and systems to tax and regulatory demands. According to Morote, “Pedro’s hiring responds to our growth strategy based on hyperspecialization, adding professionals in areas that are redefining the needs of regulated entities in the financial sector.” He added that “his knowledge of the sector, combined with his ability to integrate tax, regulation, processes and technology, allows us to offer a differentiated response to increasingly complex challenges.”

Borja de Gabriel and Pablo Gómez-Acebo, Partners and co-heads of Andersen Iberia’s tax department, said: “Pedro brings a comprehensive understanding of the tax challenges of the financial sector and a differentiated specialization at the point where tax, regulation, operations and technology converge. His joining strengthens our capacity to support entities in both technical advice and the effective implementation of new requirements.”
