Andersen appoints five new professional partners and three new share partners
Andersen has promoted eight new partners. Three of them are quota partners: Federico Belausteguigoitia, from the Corporate, M&A department; Pedro Rubio, from Public and Regulatory; and Miguel Prado, from Financial Regulation. And five to professional partners: Gonzalo Bonany, Litigation; Silvia Vázquez, Labor; Miguel Ángel Sánchez-Arcilla, Tax; and Begoña Power and Ricardo Pla, Corporate, M&A.
Along with the partners, Andersen Iberia has approved another 95 internal promotions, including five new counsels; seven directors; 17 senior associates; 26 associates; 10 senior lawyers and 30 lawyers. Of the total number of appointments, which have taken place in all the firm’s offices, 83 affect lawyers in Spain and 12 in Portugal. In addition, 53% of the promoted professionals are women.

New quota partners
Federico Belausteguigoitia is a partner in Andersen’s Corporate / M&A practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in advising Spanish and foreign companies in corporate transactions of a commercial nature. He specializes in the energy sector, specifically in investment and divestment transactions of renewable assets, advising on the acquisition and/or sale of licenses, permits and authorizations for the construction of renewable energy projects. He also has experience in the aeronautical sector, mainly in commercial aviation.
Pedro Rubio is a partner in the Public and Regulatory department. He has more than 25 years of experience in legal advice and management of operations and legal proceedings of significant relevance both in Spain and before the General Court of the European Union, in the areas of expropriations, public procurement, cartels of manifest relevance, resolution of credit institutions, energy and asset liability proceedings.
Miguel Prado is a partner at Andersen in the Financial Regulation area of the Corporate / M&A department. He specializes in legal and regulatory advice to domestic and foreign credit institutions, financial credit institutions, payment institutions, investment services companies and collective investment schemes. He has extensive experience in regulatory advice on cross-border transactions, entity authorization procedures and cross-border structures. Within the Fintech sector, Prado has advised different players and new entrants in the lending and payments industry in adapting to the applicable regulations.
Five new partners
Gonzalo Bonany is a partner in the Litigation department. He has more than 22 years of experience, especially in the handling of civil-commercial, bankruptcy and arbitration proceedings.
Silvia Vázquez is a partner in the Labor Department. She has more than 27 years of professional experience, in which she has advised, among other matters, in restructuring processes, collective bargaining, labor audits.
Miguel Ángel Sánchez-Arcilla is a partner in the Tax Department. He has combined his professional work as a lawyer with teaching in the Accounting discipline at the European Society for Business Development.
Begoña Power is a partner in the Corporate / M&A department. She has more than 25 years of professional experience, in which she has specialized in corporate transactions and restructurings, and in bankruptcy proceedings.
Ricardo Pla is a partner in the Corporate / M&A department. Throughout his 15 years of experience, he has specialized in corporate and contract law, corporate reorganization transactions, M&A and debt restructuring and refinancing processes.
