Andersen advises BNZ on solar plant project in Portugal

Andersen has advised BNZ, an independent power producer owned by the Nuveen fund, on negotiating the EPC contract with GRS, a construction company from the Gransolar Group, to build a photovoltaic plant in Vila Nova de Famalicão (Portugal). The new structure will have a total capacity of 49 MW. The operation involved teams from Andersen offices in Spain and Andersen in Portugal.

The Famalicão plant will produce enough energy to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 14,000 households and will prevent the emission of 21,500 tons of CO2. Additionally, BNZ estimates that it will create around 70 direct and indirect jobs by 2025, when the plant is expected to be inaugurated. This is BNZ’s first project in Portugal, aiming to install approximately 600 MWp in the country by 2026, informs Andersen.

The advisors’ team

The advisory on the operation at Andersen was led by Federico Belausteguigoitia, partner in the Corporate/M&A Energy area, along with Constanza López de Oña, senior associate in the same department.
