Alberto Saavedra named treasurer of APDE
Alberto Saavedra (pictured), a partner at Sérvulo & Associados, assumes the role of treasurer at the Portuguese Association of European Law (APDE). “In 2024 alone, we have already organized a conference at the Gulbenkian on Ukraine’s accession to the EU; held sessions and debates at all law schools on the European Parliament elections; and a collective work by Portuguese authors focusing on a reflection on the constitutional foundations of the EU (‘Revisiting the Liberal Constitutional Features of the European Union’) will be published”, Saavedra shares on his social media. At Sérvulo since 2015, the lawyer is partner in the European and Competition department. He was aide to the Secretary of State for the Treasury of the XIX Constitutional Government, between 2013 and 2015.
APDE’s goal
For 40 years since its founding, APDE’s goal has been to contribute to the dissemination of European Law in Portugal. Leading APDE are president Rita Leandro Vasconcelos, vice-presidents Miguel Gorjão-Henriques and Margarida Rosado da Fonseca; secretary-general Pedro Gouveia e Melo; and board members Inês Quadros and Rita Aleixo Gregorio, in collaboration with the scientific council, chaired by Carlos Botelho Moniz.
