Alberto Martínez Fanego, new CLO and secretary to the board of directors at Solarig

Solarig has appointed Alberto Martínez Fanego, formerly of Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, as its new Chief Legal Officer and Secretary to the Board of Directors.

Martínez Fanego has developed his career in the field of corporate, transactional and financial law, specialising mainly in M&A operations and project development in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

He joins Solarig, following the departure of Clara Cerdán, who has joined the García Carrion group, from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, where he held the position of senior associate. During this time, he has advised investment funds, energy and infrastructure corporations, investment banks and public entities on major transactions. He has also previously worked at firms such as Hogan Lovells and Clifford Chance.

His experience also includes legal advisory functions in board secretariats at national and international companies, providing a global strategic vision of business and corporate governance and compliance.

Martínez holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from the Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF). He also holds a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in Business Law from Georgetown University (Washington, DC).
