Alantra appoints dual Legal Leadership in Spain

Alantra, the global investment banking and asset management firm, has strengthened its legal function in Spain by appointing Ana Montes Ayuso and Gonzalo López as Co-Heads of the Legal Department. The move marks a strategic step in reinforcing legal leadership as the firm continues to grow and navigate an increasingly sophisticated regulatory landscape.

Ana Montes Ayuso, who joined Alantra in 2017, brings robust experience in M&A and corporate legal advisory. Her elevation to co-head of the department reflects both her deep technical expertise and her growing leadership within the firm.

Sharing this role is Gonzalo López, a seasoned legal expert who has played a key role in shaping Alantra’s legal infrastructure and supporting the firm across its various business units. His contribution to the group’s compliance and regulatory strategy has been pivotal as the firm continues to expand its footprint across global markets.

This dual appointment comes as part of a broader evolution within Alantra’s legal team. With Xavier Pujol, Secretary General and Global General Counsel, recently stepping down from his role, the firm’s decision to establish shared legal leadership in Spain signals a continuity of excellence while ushering in a new chapter.

The co-head structure underlines Alantra’s focus on building agile, resilient legal operations that are closely aligned with its international growth strategy and high-volume deal flow.

With a presence in more than 25 countries, the firm is investing in internal leadership that can proactively address the complexities of cross-border transactions and shifting regulatory dynamics.
