Advisors on Nazca’s acquisition of SanSan

Nazca Capital, a firm specializing in private equity investment in unlisted Spanish SMEs, has acquired, through its Nazca Small Cap II fund, a majority stake in SanSan, a leading company in the field of hydroponic pots for blueberries. José Sancho, current CEO and partner of SanSan, will retain a significant stake and continue to lead the project.

With more than 30 years of experience, SanSan focuses on the design and marketing of hydroponic growing systems for the berry cultivation sector, especially blueberries. The company has expanded its presence to other crops, such as strawberries and raspberries. According to a statement shared by the firm, its products “enable more stable and predictable harvests, optimize the use of water and nutrients, improve fruit yield and quality, and move towards more efficient, flexible, and sustainable agriculture.”

The company has also developed its own line of traps and pheromones for agricultural pest control, with the aim of reducing pesticide use in a context of growing pressure from ecological imbalances and climate change.

SanSan operates in the main blueberry-producing regions, including Peru, Mexico, Morocco, and Spain, and closed 2024 with a turnover of €16 million, after several years of continuous growth.

With this transaction, Nazca Capital plans to boost SanSan’s national and international growth, as well as its development as a platform specializing in efficient farming solutions. The acquisition is the fifth investment by the Nazca Small Cap II fund, which already has stakes in companies such as Global Factor, Coycama y Becrisa, Laberit, and Clustag.
