Addleshaw Goddard reports record results as firm expands globally

Addleshaw Goddard has posted record financial results for the year ending 30 April 2025, marking its eighth consecutive year of growth.

Revenue rose 11% to £550.9 million, up from £495.6 million a year earlier. Partner numbers increased 9% to 444, while the firm’s total headcount grew 6% to 2,952.

Managing partner Andrew Johnston said the results reflected strong performance across key markets and ongoing investment in people and infrastructure. He highlighted the launch of the firm’s Madrid office in 2024, its first full year in Riyadh, and recent expansions in Warsaw and Abu Dhabi. The firm will also relocate its London headquarters later this year as part of its 250th anniversary celebrations.

Notable client mandates over the past year included advising Hispasat and SpaceRISE on the €10.6 billion IRIS2 satellite project, Nationwide Building Society on its £2.9 billion acquisition of Virgin Money, and Coventry Building Society on its £780 million deal for The Co-Operative Bank.

The firm also advised Guardian Media Group on the sale of The Observer, supported Applied Nutrition on the largest consumer IPO since 2021, and represented the owner of the Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées in a €175 million refinancing.

Addleshaw Goddard reported a 17% rise in pro bono hours, worth more than £5.4 million, alongside a 31% increase in volunteering. It was named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces 2025 by the Financial Times, placed 11th in the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Index, and became the first major law firm accredited as Fertility Friendly.

The firm was recognised as Law Firm of the Year 2025 at the British Business Awards and ranked among the world’s 20 most innovative law firms by the FT Innovative Lawyers: 20 Years report.

Madrid managing partner Roberto Pomares said the results validated the firm’s strategy, adding that the office would continue to strengthen Addleshaw Goddard’s international platform while investing in talent and collaboration.
