Addleshaw Goddard advises Mapfre on €100m biomethane fund

Addleshaw Goddard has advised Mapfre on the launch of its second biomethane fund, Bioenergy Agro Iberia, a vehicle with a €100m target size. Abante acts as manager, while IAM Carbonzero participates as advisor.

The biomethane fund will invest in a portfolio of biomethane projects in Spain and Portugal. The scope of the fund also includes biofertiliser and biocompost management, logistics, and the production and commercialisation of CO₂ for greenhouse use.

The fund provides for the possibility of investing outside Spain, with a focus on Portugal.

Addleshaw Goddard’s team was led by Madrid office funds partner Isabel Rodríguez, together with senior associate Enrique Torné and associate Lara Taylor.
