AdCE hires former CEO of Capgemini

Antas da Cunha Ecija has announced the integration of Paulo Morgado, former CEO of Capgemini Portugal and Spain. Paulo Morgado will reinforce the firm’s partners core and lead a new business area: the “Technology Transactions” Unit.

According to Fernando Antas da Cunha, managing partner: “It is with great satisfaction that we announce the integration of Paulo Morgado in our corporate structure”. He adds: “The pandemic has forced many companies to reinvent themselves and challenge their own limits, in response to the crisis. Digital transformation has become the order of the day, however, decisions taken, often in a hurry, have proved to be ineffective in many cases. To ensure the efficiency and competitiveness of their structures, it is essential that managers look at the technological solutions that exist in the market with a critical spirit and make intelligent decisions that effectively help them to manage their assets, optimise their costs and contribute for a significant increase in its competitiveness.” Antas da Cunha ends by saying: “Aware of this reality and aware of the difficulties that many companies are going through, we created a new business area – the ‘Technology Transactions’ Unit – which will be led by Paulo, a deep expert in the TIs, which combines legal knowledge with extensive experience in management and administration positions in the business sector. We are absolutely convinced that the knowledge that Paulo has accumulated over decades will prove to be a great asset to our clients.”

According to Paulo Morgado: “After many years working in consulting and management areas, I embrace this project in the legal area with great enthusiasm.” And he explains why: “Antas da Cunha Ecija is a law firm with very unique characteristics, with which I fully identify – see, for example, the case of its extensive curriculum linked to information technologies. In this sense, when the challenge was proposed to me, I did not hesitate”.

Paulo Morgado was, until 2018, CEO of Capgemini in Portugal and Spain, the Group he joined in 2001 and where he reached the position of Executive Vice-President in 2012. Before, he worked for Roland Berger and Banco Finantia and was General Director of Vidago Group.
Between 2018 and 2021, he joined, as a Partner, a renowned strategy boutique in Barcelona and co-founded Bridgewhat.

Paulo Morgado holds a PhD (PhD) in Business Administration and Management from Nottingham Trent University, an MBA from UCLouvain, a degree in Management (UCP) and Law, and a Master’s in Philosophy. He has published eight books on topics related to business and strategy, having taught at several Portuguese and Spanish universities.
