Abreu Advogados leads in Portugal with Microsoft’s AI platform adoption

Abreu Advogados is the first law firm in Portugal to sign an agreement with Microsoft for the transversal and complete adoption throughout the organisation of the new Copilot for Microsoft 365, one of the most complete and differentiating Artificial Intelligence tools on the market, guaranteeing another step towards technological modernization and innovation in its daily processes and tasks.

Copilot for Microsoft 365

Copilot for Microsoft 365 combines the power of LLMs with data in the Microsoft Graph — calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings and more — and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn words into a powerful productivity tool. It has the potential to significantly improve employee productivity by automating tedious tasks and providing powerful tools for data analysis and decision-making.

“It’s undeniable that Artificial Intelligence has the potential to profoundly change the way we work, and our sector will be no stranger to this transformation. We believe that adopting Copilot can increase the efficiency and productivity of legal teams, allowing lawyers to focus on work with greater added value for clients,” says Inês Sequeira Mendes, Managing Partner at Abreu Advogados.

“Abreu Advogados has invested heavily in innovation and disruption throughout its business. We follow trends closely and have a multidisciplinary team permanently dedicated to innovation, part of whose work involves mapping and testing tools that have a direct impact on the efficiency of our work. The choice of the Microsoft platform was easy, as it offers the greatest guarantee of information security, which is critical for us, as well as the evolution and scale of the solution over time, as we have no doubt that the future lies in AI and that the solution will evolve rapidly over the next few years, so we want to be at Microsoft’s side on this journey from the start, as early adopters and to be a case study of best practice over time so that we can share our experience with our customers and partners and accompany them in their own AI adoption processes, adding value with our experience.”,
explains Matilde de Mello Cabral, COO da Abreu Advogados.

Abreu Advogados already has a pilot project underway within the firm and is carrying out several tests with a restricted group of employees, to be able to adapt Copilot to the needs of each function, to maximize all the qualities and tools that the Microsoft platform can bring to the processes, as well as the service provided by the Portuguese firm to the national and international market.
