Abdón Pedrajas Littler incorporates new partner
Abdón Pedrajas Littler, a leading firm in labor law, has hired Juan Carlos Fernández Fernández-Avilés as a new partner in the firm’s Madrid office. This is a new signing that is part of the growth and international projection that the firm has experienced in recent years. After this incorporation, the firm now has a total of fifteen partners.
Fernández is a labor expert with more than 15 years of professional experience, providing legal-labor advice to national and international companies in all aspects related to restructuring processes such as collective dismissals, collective suspensions of employment contracts and/or reductions in working hours, labor reorganizations in pre and/or bankruptcy processes, labor aspects related to purchase and sale processes, mergers, spin-offs or segregation, etc., both internally and externally.
He also has extensive experience in the forensic practice of all types of matters, both individual and collective and procedural. Thus, throughout his career, he has provided legal assistance and representation in contentious proceedings before the Labor Courts and Tribunals (in relation to different labor matters such as dismissals, employment discrimination claims, stock options, illegal assignment, collective conflicts, etc.), as well as comprehensive advice in non-contentious matters (hiring, individual and collective dismissal processes, compliance, company successions, Social Security, substantial modifications of working conditions, geographical mobility, salary issues, etc.).
He has also specialized in digital rights and teleworking, and in the area of contracting and outsourcing of production activity, advising on the labor aspects of all types of production decentralization and business succession projects. Other areas that complete his expertise are expatriations and international relocations, as well as all labor aspects related to senior management.
With a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and a master’s degree in labor and employment law (Sagardoy Foundation), the new partner of Abdón Pedrajas Littler combines his work as a lawyer with his teaching as an associate professor in the Diploma of Labor Relations and the Bachelor’s Degree in Labor Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Prior to joining Abdón Pedrajas Littler, Fernández was a senior associate at the boutique Labormatters Abogados, founded in October 2021 by a team of labor and employment lawyers from Andersen, a firm he joined in 2019. He has also been head of RRLL and HR Manager at General Electric Healthcare España (Madrid), and has worked in other reputable firms such as Garrigues, Sagardoy or Abdón Pedrajas itself, where he had already worked as an associate in a first professional stage.
Antonio Pedrajas, managing partner of Abdón Pedrajas Littler, states that “Juan Carlos is a highly qualified lawyer and a recognized labor lawyer, so his reincorporation to our firm, after acquiring even more experience during these years, will reinforce even more the high quality of the services we provide to our clients”.
