Abdón Pedrajas Littler launches Kinema People

Spanish labor and social security law firm Abdón Pedrajas Littler has launched Kinema People, a strategic human resources consultancy that operates as the firm’s exclusive partner. The new company will be led by Diego Navarro and will work from offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. It completes the firm’s integrated labor advisory model.

A three-part service model

With Kinema People, the firm now offers three services: legal and labor advice from Abdón Pedrajas Littler, strategic HR consulting from Kinema People, and people management through Eqippo HR Solutions, which the firm launched in 2018.

Kinema People aims to add a strategic dimension to the HR function. Its remit runs from the design of organizational architecture to attracting, developing and retaining talent during corporate transformation processes.

The firm says the initiative responds to the growing complexity of the corporate environment, where operational decisions must combine legal, organizational and team management requirements at once. It cites the European pay transparency directive, the implementation of equality plans, internal investigations arising from whistleblowing channels, and the management of absenteeism and staff turnover as challenges that call for a multidisciplinary, preventive approach.

Leadership and governance

Diego Navarro heads Kinema People. He has more than 20 years of experience leading the HR function internationally at multinationals including Novartis, Adidas and Airbus, as well as other Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical, aerospace, chemical and consulting sectors. His specialties are organizational development, talent, transformation and labor relations. He has held senior management positions in Europe, Latin America, the United States and Asia.

Antonio Pedrajas Quiles, Managing Partner of Abdón Pedrajas Littler, becomes chairman of the new company.

According to Antonio Pedrajas, “companies do not separate legal problems from people problems, and our advice should not either. With Kinema People we can support our clients throughout the process, from strategic and comprehensive human resources consulting to people management and labor law advice, with a common approach.”

Diego Navarro said that “organizational health has become a business variable. Issues such as absenteeism, turnover or the ability to retain talent depend as much on leadership and culture as on the labor framework in which they are managed. Being able to address them alongside the legal knowledge of Abdón Pedrajas Littler allows us to offer companies complete, rigorous and applicable solutions.”
