Globalia names Ramiro Campos CEO and appoints Alejandro Ortiz
Globalia has announced a significant renewal of its governance structure, appointing long-standing legal executive Ramiro Campos as chief executive officer and strengthening its board with the addition of prominent lawyer Alejandro Ortiz.
The appointments were unveiled alongside the group’s 2025 financial results, which showed a 21% increase in net profit to €118 million, driven by strong performances across its businesses and a record €111 million net profit at Air Europa.
Ramiro Campos takes the helm
Campos, who has been linked to Globalia for decades, succeeds to the CEO position after a career closely associated with the group’s legal and corporate development. Having led the company’s legal department, he has played a key role in some of Globalia’s most significant corporate transactions and strategic initiatives.
According to the company, his deep understanding of the organisation and his contribution to major milestones have been instrumental in shaping Globalia’s current position. His appointment reflects the group’s preference for leadership continuity at a time when it continues to strengthen its financial position and pursue long-term growth objectives.
The promotion also highlights the increasingly strategic role played by senior legal executives within large corporate groups, particularly those with extensive experience in governance, complex transactions and organisational transformation.
Alejandro Ortiz joins the board
As part of the governance overhaul, Globalia has also appointed Alejandro Ortiz as a new member of its board of directors.
Ortiz brings decades of legal experience gained at leading international and domestic law firms, having been a partner at Latham & Watkins, Linklaters and Garrigues. His appointment adds significant legal and transactional expertise to the board at a time when the group continues to navigate a dynamic aviation and tourism market.
He joins fellow newly appointed director Álvaro Badiola, former chief financial officer of Cepsa and former CEO of Telefónica Brasil. The board also includes María José Hidalgo and Cristina Hidalgo, while Javier Beltrán has been appointed non-director secretary.
