Andersen, 1MillionBot launch AI legal unit
Andersen and 1MillionBot, a Spanish technology company specialised in artificial intelligence, have created Legit & Legal Intelligence, a joint entity that formalises the collaboration between Andersen’s regulatory and legal expertise and 1MillionBot’s technological and AI development capabilities. The initiative builds on an alliance the two organisations sealed in 2025, which had already identified the convergence between technological innovation and legal certainty as a structural market need.
The new entity is conceived as a shared structure for designing and deploying AI solutions under a “compliant by design” approach, in which regulatory compliance is not an afterthought but a guiding principle present from a project’s conception through to its deployment. Legit & Legal Intelligence will accompany organisations across the full AI adoption cycle, from identifying use cases and assessing risks to designing, implementing and supervising the resulting solutions.
The launch comes as digital sovereignty gains strategic weight, alongside the progressive application of the EU AI Regulation and growing scrutiny of automated systems. Reliance on proprietary models developed and controlled outside Europe raises risks for public administrations and private organisations alike, both in terms of data control and operational continuity. In response, Legit & Legal Intelligence favours technology solutions adapted to the European regulatory framework and, where required, European-native architectures designed to support compliance with the AI Regulation and GDPR from day one. This is particularly relevant in heavily regulated sectors such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, technology, education, employment and the public administration itself.
Regulatory expertise meets AI deployment
Carlos Rodríguez Sau, Partner for Legaltech at Andersen and director of Legit & Legal Intelligence, said companies must recognise that regulatory compliance is no longer just a legal requirement but a factor of competitiveness, trust and differentiation. He added that Legit & Legal Intelligence provides the legal certainty and capacity to respond to supervisors and regulators needed for a responsible and competitive adoption of AI.
Andrés Desantes, CEO of 1MillionBot and co-director of Legit & Legal Intelligence, said the main obstacle to AI adoption in Europe is no longer technological but the gap between piloting a solution and putting it into production with full guarantees. He explained that the venture combines experience from hundreds of real deployments in public administrations and regulated sectors with Andersen’s legal rigour, so that projects reach production with governance, traceability and data control built in from the design stage.
Alignment with Spain’s sovereign AI strategy
The venture is aimed particularly at regulated sectors and public administrations, where sovereignty concerns are especially sensitive. Legit & Legal Intelligence aligns with Spain’s national AI strategy built around ALIA, the public AI infrastructure promoted by the Spanish government and developed with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, as well as with the use of open European language models such as the EuroLLM family. The aim is to offer integrated solutions supported by European digital sovereignty, combining national and European models with the governance, traceability and data-control guarantees required in critical environments.
Beyond specific technology solutions, Legit & Legal Intelligence incorporates a risk-management methodology aligned with international standards such as ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Regulation, already applied in projects in regulated sectors, together with governance tools and a framework for cataloguing use cases, organising evidence and reinforcing traceability to demonstrate compliance to supervisors and regulators.
