Margarida Sameiro joins MEO as secretary general and company secretary

Margarida Sameiro has joined MEO, a Portugal-based telecommunications company, as secretary general and company secretary. She joins from GPA – Gouveia Pereira, Costa Freitas & Associados, where she was chief corporate affairs & people officer.

A lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in company law, M&A, corporate governance and intellectual property, as well as institutional relations, she previously practised at firms including Vieira de Almeida and Cuatrecasas.

In parallel, she has served as a member of the Executive Board of APDE (Portuguese Association of European Law), as a member of the Executive Committee responsible for organising the FIDE Congress, and as a member of the general meeting of several commercial companies.

She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and postgraduate qualifications in securities and intellectual property.
