Naiz Homes and Azora acquire Nueva Marina Real Estate: advisors
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised Naiz Homes and Azora on the acquisition of Nueva Marina Real Estate (NUMA), the company that owns the La Térmica development in Málaga. Garrigues also advised Azora on the transaction, which marks the buyers’ entry into one of the largest urban regeneration projects on the Spanish coastline and the exit of Ginkgo, Aedas Homes and Constructora Sanjosé from NUMA’s shareholding. Pérez-Llorca advised Ginkgo.
Deal details
The site occupies the land of the former Endesa thermal power plant, in the Carretera de Cádiz district of Málaga, and includes total buildable area exceeding 120,000 square metres. The plan foresees the development of around 870 homes together with hotel, commercial and other institutional uses.
NUMA holds the free residential plots R3 and R5, which together account for more than 61,000 square metres of buildable area and will allow for close to 600 homes to be built along the seafront. For Ginkgo, the sale closes an investment cycle focused on the urban planning, environmental and technical management of the land, turning a former industrial site into a residential project.
