Sérvulo advises Liga Portugal on audiovisual rights

Sérvulo & Associados has been advising Liga Portugal and Liga Centralização on the implementation of a 2021 decree-law that imposed the centralised commercialisation of audiovisual rights belonging to clubs and sporting companies of Liga Portugal Betclic (Primeira Liga) and Liga MeuSuper (Liga II).

The process reached a decisive new stage at a General Assembly of Liga Portugal held in Porto, where members approved — by a majority of 80% — the resolution establishing the revenue distribution key among clubs for the first five-year cycle, covering the 2028–2029 to 2032–2033 seasons. The vote marks a significant step in the structural reform of how Portuguese football’s broadcast revenues are pooled and allocated across the top two professional divisions.
