Pares partners with Susana de Queirós in Algarve
Pares has entered into a partnership with the Vilamoura office of Susana de Queirós, a boutique practice with over 25 years of experience in the Algarve market. The agreement is designed to create a national platform for the delivery of multidisciplinary legal services, covering Corporate Law, M&A, Tax, Real Estate, Tourism, and Urban Planning.
The Vilamoura firm has a track record accompanying foreign investment projects in the region, particularly in the real estate and tourism sectors. Under the partnership, both firms’ clients will gain access to a broader, integrated service offering without the need to engage additional external counsel, states Pares.
Strategic rationale
João Malhadas Teixeira, partner at Pares, explained that the Algarve had long been a region of interest for the firm, but that identifying the right partner — one sharing the same values and corporate culture — had been the determining factor. He noted that Susana de Queirós and her team demonstrated deep knowledge of the local business landscape and a strong history of advising on foreign investment projects, particularly in real estate, which is one of Pares’s core practice areas. He added that the partnership eliminates the need for the Vilamoura office to rely on third-party firms to complement its service offering, and that the combination of local Algarve market knowledge with Pares’s Lisbon-based multidisciplinary team creates meaningful synergies for clients of both practices.
Susana de Queirós highlighted that over 25 years of activity in the Algarve, her firm has closely advised domestic and international clients on real estate and tourism investment projects, with a particular focus on foreign investors. She noted that the partnership strengthens the firm’s capacity to handle larger and more complex mandates while maintaining the personalised, proximity-based client service that has defined its approach in the region.
