Youandlaw names Jacobo Velilla Head of Tax
Madrid-based law firm Youandlaw has brought on Jacobo Velilla as Head of Tax. The hire coincides with the formal launch of a new tax advisory practice area.
The newly established tax practice is designed to integrate with Youandlaw’s existing practice areas. Its remit covers wealth planning for individuals and companies, investment and divestment processes, corporate and asset restructurings, succession planning, family protocols, M&A transactions, remuneration scheme design, and broader corporate operations.
The team will also assist clients in tax inspections and administrative proceedings, with a technical and decision-oriented approach.
The profile
Jacobo Velilla brings over ten years of experience in tax law, with a focus on family business taxation, private clients, and the real estate sector. He has advised domestic and international companies, investment funds, family groups, and high-net-worth individuals throughout his career. He also holds an academic post as an associate professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and holds a double Master’s degree in Legal Practice and Tax Advisory from IE Law School, as well as a law degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
