Ejaso lands in Portugal with New Legal-PMC

Spanish law firm Ejaso has landed in Portugal through a partnership with New Legal-PMC, establishing a presence in Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia under the brand New Legal-PMC by Ejaso.

The alliance, set to be formally announced soon, marks Ejaso’s expansion into the Portuguese market and strengthens the cross-border positioning of both firms. According to the firm, the partnership is “built around a shared vision of international growth, combining local expertise with a strong international footprint to support clients in an increasingly global and complex legal environment”.

Ejaso brings to the partnership a team of more than 250 professionals, a network of 12 offices across the Iberian Peninsula and an established international presence in seven countries. The new structure aims to offer close, technically robust and strategically aligned legal advice across jurisdictions.

Based on initial information shared on social media, New Legal-PMC by Ejaso is made up of lawyers, jurists and senior consultants whose specialisations and professional backgrounds are described as highly complementary. Beyond Portugal, the project already envisages activity in Spain, Angola, Mozambique, Brazil and the United States, with the stated ambition of building a broad international platform.

About the new partnership

PMC Sociedade de Advogados was founded by Jorge Pracana, Francisco José Martins, and Marco António Costa. The new partnership specialises in comprehensive legal advice to companies across areas such as corporate, M&A, tax, real estate, labour, data protection, compliance and litigation, among others. Its practice combines legal expertise with a strategic business perspective, offering tailored solutions to both domestic and international clients.

In addition, New Legal-PMC has areas of influence and relationships in key Lusophone markets such as Brazil, Angola and Mozambique, as well as in Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe. “This international dimension aligns with Ejaso’s strategy of consolidating its position as an independent firm with global reach and growing involvement in cross-border transactions”, states Ejaso.

The alliance will enable Ejaso to offer its clients a coordinated structure across the Iberian Peninsula, with integrated teams working under common standards and a shared business development strategy. Under the new brand, both firms will promote a joint offering particularly focused on investment projects, business expansion, restructurings, corporate transactions and ongoing advisory work in international environments.

Ejaso notes that the move “strengthens our ability to support companies in their internationalisation processes, particularly along the Iberian axis and in Lusophone markets, where there is a growing flow of investment and opportunities”.

For their part, representatives of New Legal-PMC by Ejaso highlight that the alliance “makes it possible to combine capabilities and experience to offer clients a coordinated, agile response with a strategic vision in transactions that go beyond borders”.
