CMS appoints three new counsels in Spain

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has appointed Álvaro Feu and Gonzaga Guerrero as new counsels in the litigation & arbitration practice, and Ricardo Gómez-Barreda as counsel in the IP & digital business practice.

Álvaro Feu is a lawyer in the litigation and arbitration practice, with a solid track record in civil litigation. He has acted in all types of proceedings before courts and tribunals across a wide range of matters. He stands out for his expertise in real estate, corporate and distribution law, as well as obligations and contracts more generally, states the law firm. He also acts as an arbitrator and regularly advises on high-complexity domestic and international arbitrations. In addition, he has been involved in significant restructuring and insolvency proceedings in the Spanish market.

Gonzaga Guerrero, also a lawyer in litigation and arbitration, has more than 12 years of experience in resolving complex civil and commercial disputes, both before the courts and in arbitration. His practice focuses on post-M&A and corporate disputes, collective actions (banking litigation and competition law infringements) and contractual liability (including sale and purchase agreements, agency, distribution and lease agreements, among others). He mainly advises large corporations, financial institutions, investment funds and family offices.

Ricardo Gómez-Barreda is a lawyer in the intellectual and industrial property and digital business practice. He specialises in both contentious and non-contentious advice on intellectual and industrial property, trade secrets, unfair competition and digital business. His practice covers copyright, trademarks, designs and patents, as well as matters relating to advertising, image rights, data protection and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and e-commerce. He has extensive litigation experience, having acted before courts of first instance, provincial courts, the Spanish Supreme Court, the General Court of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as in arbitrations.
