Luis Suárez de Centi, new tax partner at Eversheds Sutherland

Eversheds Sutherland, led by Jacobo Martínez, has incorporated Luis Suárez de Centi Martínez as a new partner in the tax department of the firm’s Spanish office. The lawyer has a solid international track record after leading Uría Menéndez’s tax practice in New York for six years.

A tax lawyer, Luis Suárez de Centi has extensive experience and a solid international track record in providing tax advice to large business groups, private equity funds and high net worth individuals. Throughout his professional career, he has provided ongoing advice on tax issues in complex real estate transactions, on the tax and corporate aspects of international M&A transactions, on the restructuring of business and family groups – particularly in Spain and Latin America – and on tax planning for cross-border investments (both for foreign investments in Spain and Spanish investments abroad).

The lawyer has also advised on tax inspections and tax litigation proceedings before the authorities and the courts and regularly advises high net worth individuals and family groups on matters relating to the tax planning of their investments in Spain or international transfers of residence.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Suárez developed his professional career at Uría Menéndez, where he was head of the tax department at the New York office between 2018 and 2024. During that period, he led tax advice to clients with interests in the United States, Europe and Latin America, consolidating his strong international profile and specialisation in international taxation and complex cross-border transactions.

The firm’s tax department now consists of two partners, one counsel, two associates and one trainee.
