Addleshaw Goddard advises on the acquisition of the Ombú building

Addleshaw Goddard has advised Mapfre Vida on the acquisition of the Ombú building, located in Méndez Álvaro (Madrid) and currently leased to technology company EA Sports.

The property has a surface area of 14,000 square metres and 240 parking spaces, including 12,000 square metres of green areas integrated into its design. It has undergone a comprehensive renovation by the prestigious architecture firms Foster + Partners and Ortiz.León, becoming a benchmark for sustainability and energy efficiency in the Spanish real estate market. Built between 1903 and 1909, it is a historic icon that has evolved to meet current needs, consolidating the Méndez Álvaro area as one of the most attractive hubs in Madrid.

With this acquisition, Mapfre strengthens its diversification and sustainability strategy, investing in prime assets in strategic locations.

The firm team advising on the transaction was led by José Antonio Calleja, partner and head of the Real Estate practice, supported by counsel Candela Escribano and associate María Calderón.
