Deloitte Legal finalising the hiring of three Pinsent Masons partners
A triple move in the legal market. Deloitte Legal is in the final stages of bringing on board Alfonso Bayona, Juan de Navasqüés and Borja Martín, all of whom come from Pinsent Masons, pending final approval from the firm’s partnership. The arrivals represent a strategic boost for the M&A and private equity practice, specially in energy and infrastructure.
The three lawyers were part of the team, also formed by Hermenegildo Altozano at Pinsent Masons and have extensive experience advising on complex transactions and corporate projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Alfonso Bayona
Bayona has been a partner in the Energy and Infrastructure practice at Pinsent Masons since 2023. Previously, he served as a partner in the same sector at Bird & Bird and also held a partnership position at Cazorla Abogados. In 2015, he worked as legal counsel at FCC, and in 2011 he joined Bird & Bird as counsel, after having developed his career as a senior associate at Hogan Lovells and earlier as a lawyer at Uría. Bayona specialises in international corporate transactions in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, advising on corporate, contractual and financial matters.
Juan de Navasqüés
De Navasqüés has extensive experience advising national and international clients across all stages of energy projects, particularly in renewable and gas assets, as well as in M&A transactions. In 2023, he joined Pinsent Masons Spain as a partner in the Energy and Infrastructure practice. Prior to that, in 2019, he worked as Energy Counsel in the corporate team at Bird & Bird, having previously been an associate at Pérez-Llorca from 2014 and at Latham & Watkins from 2010.
Borja Martín
Martín has extensive experience in M&A and in projects related to the energy, infrastructure and real estate sectors, both in Spain and internationally. He joined Pinsent Masons in 2017, after completing a Master’s degree in Private Law with a specialisation in Commercial Law at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2012. Before joining the firm, he worked as a senior associate at Ramón y Cajal Abogados and as an associate at Schüller, Hormigo & Asociados, following earlier roles as legal counsel at Hiper Centro Capital in 2009 and at Martínez-Echevarría, Pérez y Ferrero Abogados from 2007.
