Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa appoints Anna Roig as new partner

Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has promoted Anna Roig to new partner in the tax department at its Madrid office. Her promotion is part of the appointment of eight new partners at the firm’s offices in Mexico City, Monterrey, Querétaro and Madrid, bringing the total number of partners to 73.

Roig joined Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa in 2019 as an associate in the tax practice of the Madrid office, after eight years at Uría Menéndez.

She specialises in general corporate taxation, corporate restructuring, international tax planning and taxation of large estates and non-residents, and also has experience in tax inspection and litigation procedures.

She combines her professional work with teaching at Esade–Ramon Llull, where she teaches direct and indirect taxation in several degree programmes. She also teaches Real Estate Taxation and Regional and Local Taxation in the Master’s Degree in Taxation at the Open University of Catalonia.

Along with Roig, the firm has announced the promotion of Jaime De León (Tax, Mexico City), Claudio Cárdenas, Israel Bastida and Ricardo Herrera (Litigation, Mexico City and Monterrey), Santiago Coste (Querétaro), Paulina Islas (Foreign Trade, Mexico City) and Santiago Carrera (Transactional, Monterrey).
