Andersen appoints Xavier Miravalls as of counsel

Andersen has appointed Xavier Miravalls, formerly of psycholawgy, as of counsel in the Commercial and M&A department at its Barcelona office, led by Juan Ignacio Alonso.

Xavier Miravalls

With more than 45 years of experience, Miravalls specialises in M&A and corporate investment and divestment projects. He also has solid experience in succession planning for growing family businesses and the renewal of family corporate structures. For 21 years, he was managing partner of KPMG’s legal department in Barcelona, as well as serving on the Board of Directors and the Strategy and Marketing Committee, among other responsibilities. He has also worked at firms such as RocaJunyent and RSM.

Miravalls comes from psycholawgy, where he worked as a consultant on law firm strategy, particularly in Europe and Latham.

At the same time, he is Director of the Master’s Degree in International Law at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE – Law & Business School), where he also teaches. He is also a regular lecturer at the Instituto de Empresa and ESADE.

The new of counsel holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and completed his training with a Master’s Degree in Comparative European Law from the University of Strasbourg and the Senior Management Programme (PADE) at IESE Business School.
