Afianza Legal hires José Antonio Yagüe as partner

Afianza Legal has appointed José Antonio Yagüe, formerly of Forvis Mazars, as a partner in the tax department at its Madrid office.

For his part, Víctor Torrico, managing director of Afianza, stressed that ‘José Antonio’s arrival is in line with our strategic commitment to the area, and his vision of the market and proven experience will enable us to strengthen the area and respond to an increasingly demanding environment. Yagüe has over 20 years’ experience in the tax sector, with a high degree of specialisation in advising large multinational groups and medium-sized companies. His experience covers key areas such as tax planning, due diligence operations, advice on M&A processes and corporate restructuring. His incorporation brings a strategic approach and extensive technical knowledge that will contribute significantly to the development and consolidation of the area.

Before joining Afianza Legal, he was a tax advisor at the international firm Forvis Mazars. He also held the position of corporate tax manager for Spain and Latin America at the Comdata group and spent most of his professional career in the tax and legal area at PwC.

In terms of his education, Yagüe holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the University of the Basque Country and a master’s degree in Corporate Tax Consultancy from the IE Business School.

The arrival of José Antonio Yagüe is part of Afianza’s growth strategy in the legal area, which has achieved a turnover of €11 million and has more than 120 legal professionals.
