Luis Suárez de Lezo, new real estate partner at Fieldfisher

Fieldfisher has appointed Luis Suárez de Lezo as a new partner in its Real Estate practice in its Madrid office, from Santander Alternative Investments. With more than twelve years of experience in providing legal advice on real estate and alternative investment transactions, Suárez de Lezo joins the firm to strengthen its practice in complex and multi-jurisdictional transactions in the real estate sector.

“Luis combines in-depth technical knowledge with a commercial and practical vision of the real estate business. His experience in cross-border transactions and his time in alternative investment banking bring great added value to our practice,” said Rodrigo Martos, managing partner of Fieldfisher in Spain.

Suárez de Lezo has developed his career in international firms and in the financial sector. He comes from Santander Alternative Investments, where he held the position of legal vice-president, participating in the creation of the Santander Group’s new alternative investment fund manager, while also leading legal advice on real estate investment strategies, which have been particularly active in the flex-living sector in recent times.

Previously, he worked at law firms such as Linklaters and Pinsent Masons, where he advised international and national funds, developers, financial institutions and family offices on the acquisition, sale, financing, leasing and development of various types of real estate assets, including logistics, residential, commercial and hotel properties, in both single asset and portfolio deals.

During his career, he has been involved in numerous international transactions and has coordinated multidisciplinary teams in various European jurisdictions.
