MFA Legal integrates two new lawyers
MFA Legal has announced the strengthening of its team with the integration of two lawyers: Ana Rita Carvalho (tax) and Margarida Barahona (criminal).
Ana Rita Carvalho joins from EY, where she served as tax manager in the international tax & transaction services department. With solid experience in tax law, including the completion of an LL.M in Leiden (Netherlands) and teaching at Universidade Católica, she joins the department led by Samuel Fernandes de Almeida and Joana Lobato Heitor as a senior associate.
Over the past three years, Margarida Barahona worked as a legal counsel in the Segregated Internal Control Team of the “Recover Portugal” Mission Structure — the Recovery and Resilience Plan. She joins the firm as an associate, strengthening the criminal law practice led by João Medeiros.
“We continue to invest in talent and in strengthening our core practice areas, with the aim of adding value to our services and clients. Ana Rita and Margarida both bring valuable professional experience combined with outstanding academic backgrounds, and we are confident that they will represent a significant asset to our project”, says Samuel Fernandes de Almeida, managing partner.
