Iñigo Bengoechea and Antonio Pereira, new partner and counsel in Cuatrecasas

Cuatrecasas has strengthened its Private Client & Private Wealth and Family Business areas with the addition of Íñigo Bengoechea, formerly of Pontegea, as partner and Antonio Pereira as advisor in the Tax practice. Both lawyers bring extensive experience in tax advice to high net worth individuals, family offices, and national and international family groups, and their arrival will help consolidate the firm’s leadership in this practice, as well as strengthen its presence in Galicia, where it has offices in Vigo and A Coruña.

Iñigo Bengoechea

Iñigo Bengoechea, whose appointment will be ratified at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Partners in November, has developed a professional career over more than 20 years as an expert lawyer in the field of tax planning. Previously, he worked as global head of tax at Pontegea. He has extensive experience in tax advice in the practice of Private Clients & Private Wealth, to family groups, family offices, and in M&A transactions, asset acquisitions, and the issuance of financial products. He has also worked in tax risk control and reporting and in managing relations with the various tax authorities.

He holds a law degree from the University of Deusto and a master’s degree in tax consulting from the Instituto de Empresa, where he currently teaches. He has also taught at the Association of Economists of A Coruña, contributed to various tax publications, and been a speaker at different courses.

Antonio Pereira

Antonio Pereira has more than 20 years of professional experience as a tax specialist, expert in national and international corporate taxation, M&A transactions, and family businesses. He specializes in the design of corporate tax policies and investment structures, as well as advising on real estate and financial investments, restructuring and refinancing, and tax coordination with various tax authorities.

He holds a law degree from the University of A Coruña and a master’s degree in business law from the University of Navarra, a master’s degree in corporate finance from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues, and a master’s degree in infrastructure, equipment, and services management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
