Antas da Cunha Ecija advises on Science4you deal
Antas da Cunha Ecija has advised Femacosa – a company owned by Fernando Santos, former national football coach – in strengthening its shareholding position in Science4you, following Atena’s sale of its majority stake in the company last June.
Science4you S.A. was founded in 2008 in partnership with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. The company focuses on creating educational and scientific toys that improve education levels and allow children to learn while playing. Science4you toys are inspired by the STEAM methodology, which helps children develop their skills while engaging in different areas: science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
The company is currently present in more than 45 countries, including Brazil, the United States, Japan, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Greece, Poland, Italy, Canada and Australia.
The M&A team at Antas da Cunha Ecija oversaw the entire transaction. The team advising on the deal was coordinated by Amílcar Silva (partner, pictured) and included Carolina Meireles (of counsel), Carolina Ribeiro Santos (senior associate) and Tânia Nogueira (associate).
