Ecija integrates Corp Abogados y Economistas in Aragón

ECIJA has announced the integration of Corp Abogados y Economistas, a leading law and economics advisory firm in Zaragoza. With this move, the firm reinforces its strategic presence in Aragón, where it has been established since 2018, and positions itself as one of the largest firms in the region. The integration adds seven new partners—Alberto Sanjuán, Ricardo Chueca, María Ballester, Diego Baldovín, Héctor Verde, Carlos Camo and Ander Astobiza—and more than 50 professionals, bringing Ecija Zaragoza’s revenue close to €5 million.

ECIJA first opened its Zaragoza office seven years ago under the leadership of Cristina Llop, who is now stepping aside to hand over the role of managing partner to Alberto Sanjuán.

Sanjuán, the new managing partner of ECIJA Zaragoza, has extensive experience in litigation, commercial and insolvency law. He previously served as managing partner of Corp Abogados y Economistas and worked at Garrigues and Landwell-PwC. He holds a Law degree from the University of Zaragoza and a Master’s in Business Legal Advice from IE Law School.

With this integration, the firm significantly strengthens its capabilities in litigation, commercial, insolvency, tax, financial and labor law, while incorporating the expertise, talent, and client base of a firm with a strong track record in the Aragonese market.

This operation is part of the firm’s broader expansion strategy. In 2024, the firm surpassed €100 million in global revenue, consolidating its leadership across Spain and Latin America. So far this year, Ecija has integrated CLCripto, a consultancy specializing in legal and tax advice on crypto assets; reinforced its presence in Colombia with the incorporation of boutique firm Vanegas Morales and senior talent such as Daniel Acevedo; and expanded in Portugal with Cruz Vilaça Advogados, a firm specialized in EU and public law.
