Víctor Morán, new tech & data partner in Letslaw

Letslaw has incorporated Víctor Morán, formerly of Fieldfisher, as a new partner in its Tech & Data practice. This addition marks another step in the firm’s strategy to build a leading team in digital law, cybersecurity, and data protection, at a pivotal time shaped by the implementation of key European regulations such as DORA, NIS-II, and the Artificial Intelligence Act.

Víctor Morán

A law graduate with a specialization in cybersecurity, risk, and digital security, Víctor Morán brings more than a decade of experience advising national and international companies on data protection, intellectual property, technology contracts, digital regulation, and corporate transactions in the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Throughout his career, he has worked at top-tier firms such as Fieldfisher, where he was a partner in the Tech & Data Department, as well as Deloitte and BDO. He has led numerous data protection compliance, review, and audit projects, and has served as general counsel and Data Protection Officer (DPO) for multinationals across key industries including energy, banking, telecommunications, and retail.

His expertise also extends to advising on investment rounds and M&A transactions in the technology and startup sectors, as well as on commercial agreements related to software, SaaS, intellectual property, copyright, and image rights. In addition, he has advised on audiovisual production projects and the implementation of regulatory frameworks such as the Data Act, while preparing companies for compliance with the EU’s forthcoming Artificial Intelligence regulation – one of the fastest-growing areas in digital law.

José María Baños, managing partner of Letslaw, commented: “For our firm, welcoming a profile like Víctor’s is a significant milestone. He brings not only strong technical expertise but also a clear strategic vision to help our clients anticipate the challenges posed by the evolving European regulatory framework in technology and data.”
