Osborne Clarke has expanded its corporate team in Spain with the appointment of Javier Bau as partner.
With more than 20 years of experience in corporate law, Bau specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings, advising on both domestic and cross-border transactions.
He has acted for investment funds, multinational corporations, family-owned groups, and listed companies across all stages of the deal cycle, from structuring through to closing and post-transaction integration. His track record includes leading major transactions in Spain and Europe, combining technical expertise with a strategic, business-focused approach.
Bau previously served as a corporate partner at Pérez-Llorca and KPMG, and earlier in his career worked at A&O Shearman, Deloitte Legal, and Freshfields. He also gained international experience at Nomura International’s investment banking division in London.
A graduate and master’s degree holder in law from Esade (Universitat Ramon Llull), he currently serves as an associate professor at the institution.
Osborne Clarke said Bau’s arrival strengthens its corporate offering in Spain and consolidates its ability to advise on strategic transactions across key sectors including financial services, infrastructure, and healthcare.
