Morais Leitão partners with Xpand IT on AI for law

Morais Leitão has announced a new partnership with Xpand IT, aiming to develop an intelligent virtual assistant based on AI. The goal is to transform the way professionals at the law firm access information and perform their day-to-day tasks. According to the law firm, the solution will speed up knowledge searches, facilitate access to relevant content, optimise internal processes, and free up time for higher-value tasks, promoting a more agile and efficient legal practice.

“Investing in AI technology to improve the user experience will enable simpler, faster and more personalised interactions, thereby reinforcing the speed, reliability and autonomy of different teams’ work, which are all mandatory requirements in a sector undergoing rapid digital transformation”,says Morais Leitão.

The project is based on a technological foundation that is fully integrated with Morais Leitão’s knowledge base and public legal sources. This ensures secure, contextualised access to information. The solution combines the robustness of the digital infrastructure with the flexibility and intelligence of state-of-the-art language models adapted to the legal sector’s specificities.

According to Sérgio Viana, Xpand IT’s managing partner responsible for the Customer Experience area, “The application of generative artificial intelligence in highly specialised environments such as the legal sector unlocks a new generation of agile, knowledge-driven internal digital experiences. This project demonstrates how technology can be a real catalyst for productivity and quality when put at the service of people and their real working contexts.”

Martim Krupenski, managing partner at Morais Leitão (pictured), adds: “Technological innovation has been a priority for us in order to improve the quality of our services and the efficiency of our teams in such a sophisticated and competitive sector. This project is part of a broader strategy of continuous investment in advanced digital solutions, allowing us to maintain a pioneering approach that meets the most demanding international standards in the Portuguese legal sector.”
