Telles advises BPI Imofomento on real estate deal
Telles has provided legal advice to BPI Imofomento – an investment fund managed by BPI Gestão de Activos – on the acquisition of the Edifício Mutual, located on Rua do Campo Alegre in Porto, from Mutual SIC Imobiliária Fechada.
The acquisition of the Edifício Mutual – which will house Deloitte Portugal’s future offices in Porto – marks a milestone for BPI Imofomento, representing the fund’s largest investment transaction to date in the northern region of Portugal. The property, with a total area of approximately 10,400 sqm and recently subject to a major refurbishment, is fully leased to Deloitte Portugal and has capacity to accommodate more than 600 employees.
The Telles team leading the transaction was headed by Pedro Almeida e Sousa, partner in the real estate and construction practice, with the involvement of partner Joana Telles de Abreu. The team also included associates Vanessa Vicente Bexiga and João Pedro Lucena, both from the real estate and construction practice. The advisors work covered all stages of the process, including structuring the deal, drafting the promissory purchase and sale agreements.
