McDermott Will & Emery and Schulte Roth & Zabel merge
International law firms McDermott Will & Emery and Schulte Roth & Zabel have announced the official completion of their merger, officially creating McDermott Will & Schulte. The new firm has more than 1,750 lawyers in more than 20 offices worldwide.
“This merger is more than a collaboration: we are setting a new standard of excellence in our profession,” said Ira Coleman, chairman of McDermott Will & Schulte. “From being indispensable partners to our clients to fostering a people-centric culture and driving innovation, we are challenging conventional models and building a forward-thinking law firm.”
McDermott Will & Schulte: revenue of $3 billion
The merger focuses on combining McDermott’s industry expertise with Schulte’s track record in private capital. McDermott Will & Schulte will have revenues of $3 billion and a fully integrated platform in the areas of healthcare, tax, private equity, litigation, regulation and private client services.
As for their new organisation, the leaders of both firms will shape the future of the combined organisation. Schulte partners will assume key roles on the management, executive and compensation committees and will co-lead the firm’s New York and London offices.
“At Schulte Roth & Zabel, we have always been committed to innovative legal strategies,” said Marc Elovitz and David Efron, co-managing partners of Schulte. “Joining forces with McDermott allows us to expand our impact, deliver unparalleled value and redefine client expectations of their legal partners. We are excited to build this future together.”
