New round of promotions at DLA Piper in Spain
DLA Piper has announced a new round of internal promotions in Spain: Rocío Smith (Finance) and Luis Borrero (Corporate) to counsel, and Patricia Pila (Employment) to legal director. In addition, Ana Coto and Natalia Pérez (Tax), Pablo Gamboa (Real Estate), Sara Espina (Finance), and Andrea Fernández (IPT) have been promoted to senior associate.
Rocío Smith joined DLA Piper in 2010 and has a track record advising on corporate finance, acquisition finance (LBOs), and project finance transactions, both nationally and internationally. She has particular expertise in real estate finance, venture debt, and export finance.
Luis Borrero, a graduate in Law from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, joined DLA Piper in January 2008. With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in M&A, private equity, corporate restructurings, litigation funding, and sports law. He regularly advises national and international clients on M\&A and private equity transactions, restructurings, corporate law, and commercial contracts. Luis is also the author of several academic articles and publications, and has delivered numerous courses, presentations, and seminars.
Patricia Pila joined DLA Piper in March 2012. She began her career with an internship in PwC’s Legal and Tax Department and later worked as a labor lawyer at the Bank of Spain. Patricia has experience across all areas of labor and social security law. She has advised on business restructurings, collective dismissals, furloughs (ERTES), and collective bargaining negotiations. Her expertise also includes drafting employment and executive contracts, adapting international contracts to Spanish regulations, compensation plans, labor inspections, terminations, investigations, and more.
