Elisabet Cots and Davinia Rogel, new Baker McKenzie partners in Spain

Baker McKenzie has appointed Elisabet Cots and Davinia Rogel as new partners in the Public and Pharmaceutical Law and Tax & High Net Worth practice areas, respectively, effective 1 July. Both, based in Barcelona, joined the firm in 2010 as junior lawyers.

Elisabet Cots

Cots began her career at Baker McKenzie in 2010 as a lawyer in the public law and pharmaceutical department, which she now leads. For 15 years she has focused her practice on advising on regulatory matters, representing clients in administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings. Her practice has also focused on the implementation of activities and regulation of products at all stages of the value chain, from manufacturing to marketing.

At the pharmaceutical industry level, Elisabet Cots advises on market access issues, public procurement, promotion and advertising of medicines and medical devices, registration and authorisations. She has solid experience in the judicial field where she has won relevant cases before the Audiencia Nacional and the Supreme Court in relation to the financing of medicines.

Elisabet Cots holds a degree in Law from Pompeu Fabra University and a Master’s degree in Legal Sciences, specialising in administrative and environmental law, from the same university, where she is now also an associate lecturer. She also participates as a speaker in different organisations.

Davinia Rogel

Rogel has more than 15 years of experience advising on tax matters and large estates. Her career is characterised by a comprehensive approach covering tax planning, defence in tax proceedings and strategic advice on transfer pricing, with a strong specialisation in advising large estates.

Davinia Rogel regularly advises family groups and complex business structures, accompanying them in restructuring processes, succession planning and wealth preservation, with tax-efficient solutions adapted to each investor profile. In the procedural field, she has extensive experience in tax inspections and litigation before all courts, including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, as well as in international procedures such as amicable proceedings. She is also recognised for her technical expertise in transfer pricing, where she advises on intellectual property structures, cost sharing agreements and comparability studies in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, technology and retail.

Rogel holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Taxation from ESADE. She actively participates as a speaker at seminars and is the author of numerous specialised publications.

New partners at global level

The appointment of two new partners in Spain is included in the promotion and addition of new partners globally in 2025, bringing the total number of new partners to 107 as of July 2024. Transactional, litigation and tax are the areas with the highest number of promotions.
