Telles advises Ferpinta Group on hotel acquisition in Funchal
Telles provided legal advice to Fragor Imobiliária, a company of the Ferpinta Group, on the acquisition of a hotel unit in Funchal from Relaxpélago. The deal included the purchase of the property and the hotel business, which will soon reopen under the new name Vila Baleira Residence.
“With this transaction, Ferpinta Group strengthens its strategic investment in the tourism sector and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, now operating two hotel units in Funchal and three in Porto Santo”, states the law firm. Ferpinta Group is an Iberian manufacturer of steel tubes. Present in over 50 countries, it has been diversifying its portfolio, with a strong focus on tourism, especially in the Autonomous Region of Madeira and in Mozambique.
The legal advisory was handled by a multidisciplinary team at Telles, led by Francisco Espregueira Mendes, managing partner and head of the corporate, transactional and private equity practice, under the coordination of José Maria Braga da Cruz, senior associate in the same area. The team also included Célia Neves Rodrigues (real estate and construction), Vera Matos Pereira and Francisca Cordeiro da Silva (labour and social security), and Ana Moreira da Silva (tax).
