Víctor Barrio, new tax partner in Andersen
Andersen welcomes Víctor Barrio, formerly of Hogan Lovells, as a new partner in its Tax department. Vice-president of the Spanish Association of Aeronautical and Space Law (AEDAE) and member of the International Association for the Advancement of Space Safety.

Víctor Barrio
Barrio has more than 20 years of experience advising national and international clients in the field of tax litigation, to which he adds a deep knowledge of satellite and telecommunications regulatory law. He comes from Hogan Lovells, where he held the position of senior associate tax controversy and space regulatory. He also has experience in other firms such as Garrigues, Cuatrecasas and EY Abogados.
In this field, he is Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Aeronautical and Space Law (AEDAE) and a member of the International Association for the Advancement of Space Safety.
As a tax specialist, Andersen’s new partner specialises in defending and representing clients in all types of tax proceedings (management, inspection, collection), both administrative and contentious-administrative, including proceedings before national courts, including the Constitutional Court, and international courts, such as the Court of Justice of the European Union. In addition, he has a solid track record of advising on collection matters, addressing issues such as suspensions, deferrals and debt instalments.
Víctor Barrio holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed his training with a Master’s Degree in Taxation from the Garrigues Study Centre and an Executive Course on Space Law and Regulations from the European Space Agency. He also combines his legal practice with teaching at the Judicial School, the Master’s Degree in Taxation at the Garrigues Study Centre and the postgraduate course in Aeronautical and Space Law at ICADE, and is a regular speaker at courses and seminars.
