Proença de Carvalho launches German Desk

Proença de Carvalho announces the launch of its German Desk, with the integration of Anne Vogdt as of
counsel. Born in Germany, Anne moved to Portugal as a teenager. She transits from FREENOW, a german leading mobility platform, where she was head of compliance & data protection. With this addition, Proença de Carvalho also strenghtens the practice areas of data, digital & Artificial Intelligence (AI), and corporate governance, compliance & ESG.

About Anne Vogdt

Anne Vogdt earned her law degree from the Catholic University of Porto in 2007 and joined Garrigues the same year. After holding a few more roles in the public and private sectors, she became director of legal & GRC at Lidl Portugal in 2012. In 2015, she relocated to the United States to pursue an LL.M.
program at Georgetown University, taking on the role of VP of legal & compliance at Lidl
US a few months after her arrival. She also served as VP of human resources before
returning to Europe in 2019, where she then held operational leadership roles in Spain and
Portugal. In 2022, Anne decided to return to her roots and moved to Berlin, where she
joined FREENOW. Her move to Proença de Carvalho coincides with her return to Lisbon.

According to Anne Vogdt, “this move reflects something I had been considering for a while leveraging my experience in a new way by supporting organizations from the outside. Proença de Carvalho brings together everything I was looking for — a forward-thinking legal project that builds on invaluable knowledge while embracing collaboration and flexibility, and that allows me to apply a broad range of expertise without being limited by traditional boundaries. It also gives me the opportunity to help clients grow and thrive in Portugal, a country that has shaped me both personally and professionally.”

Francisco Proença de Carvalho, founding partner, says: “I have known Anne for over 10 years and have followed her outstanding career at important multinational companies, particularly at Lidl, where she held leadership positions in Portugal, Spain and USA. We are delighted that she will be joining our team for this return to Portugal, which will enable us to differentiate ourselves not only in our relations with the German market, but also in areas such as data protection, digital law and corporate governance”.
