Amaia Rivas joins Clifford Chance as arbitration partner
Clifford Chance has incorporated Amaia Rivas as partner in its Litigation & Dispute Resolution team focusing on international arbitration based in Madrid. She joins from Pinsent Masons, where she was partner and head of the Public Law department.

Amaia Rivas
A State Attorney of the Kingdom of Spain (on leave of absence), Amaia Rivas has over a decade’s experience in international arbitration. She has been a part of the International Arbitration team of the Sub Directorate for Litigation for the State Attorney’s Office, representing the Kingdom of Spain in 42 investment arbitrations under ICSID, SCC and the UNCITRAL Rules.
In addition to her arbitration work, Rivas has held key public law positions, including Legal Director at FROB (Spain’s Executive Resolution Authority), Chief State Lawyer in Córdoba, and a member of the State Attorney’s Office before the National Court.
She joins Clifford Chance from international law firm Pinsent Masons in Madrid, where she led the Public Law and Regulated Sectors department, focusing on international investment and commercial disputes across highly regulated industries.
