Sérvulo appoints its first non-lawyer partner
As part of a strategic evolution, Sérvulo & Associados has adopted a new shareholder structure, becoming a public limited company (sociedade anónima) and allowing for the inclusion of non-professional partners. In this new structure, Maria da Luz Sérvulo Correia Oom (pictured), currently general director since 2006, has been apponted as a non-professional partner.
This change, states Sérvulo, marks a shift in the culture of legal service provision, “bringing together management, innovation, and digital transformation capabilities alongside legal expertise”. According to Manuel Magalhães, managing partner, “the management team, across its various departments, now has a level of sophistication that, combined with outstanding legal knowledge, offers a differentiated response to our clients’ needs”. “By recognising this increasingly professionalised structure, the goal of this transformation is precisely to open the firm’s capital to its management teams. This is a step toward the potential evolution of the firm into a multidisciplinary partnership”, he adds.
Maria da Luz Sérvulo Correia Oom has been with the firm since 2003, leading its strategic management as well as internal and operational organisation. For over 20 years, she has pursued a competitive and innovative strategy focused on client service, supported by specialised multidisciplinary teams.
