REDeS incorporates Álvaro Irurita as its director
Álvaro Irurita has been appointed as the new director of REDeS (Extrajudicial Resolutions in Healthcare Law), a company created by PROMEDE and De Lorenzo Abogados. In his new role, Irurita will focus on driving growth, innovation, and process optimization, as well as reinforcing the company’s structure and operational efficiency.
With a law degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Irurita has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, specializing in legal advisory, human resources, and risk management. He previously held senior leadership roles at HM Hospitales, one of Spain’s leading hospital groups.
New Regulations and the Future of Healthcare Dispute Resolution
The Organic Law 1/2025 on Procedural Efficiency, effective April 3, mandates the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods before taking civil or commercial cases to court. REDeS is adapting to this change by enhancing its services to become the leading authority in healthcare conflict resolution.
Irurita emphasizes the importance of open communication, acknowledgment of errors, and amicable settlements in reducing legal disputes. “Implementing ADR not only eases the judicial burden but also enhances efficiency and trust in conflict resolution,” he states.
To support this transition, REDeS is expanding its services with new tools, including the PRE-ADR Report, which assesses the most suitable resolution method, and the Independent Expert Opinion (OPEI), offering impartial technical evaluations to guide negotiations. Additionally, the company is investing in a digital platform, integrating AI and automation for case management, electronic documentation, and secure digital agreements.
