The Andersen UPV Chair for Sustainability & Regulated Markets is born
Andersen has partnered with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) to establish the Andersen UPV Chair for Sustainability and Regulated Markets. This initiative aims to foster a comprehensive culture of sustainability in the business ecosystem, with a focus on industries subject to intense legal and regulatory frameworks.
Located within the Faculty of Business Administration and Management at UPV, the Chair will prioritize activities that integrate sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria into business practices. It will also address the impact of regulations on highly regulated sectors such as energy, telecommunications, transportation, and finance. The initiative encompasses a range of activities, including specialized training, seminars, publications, collaborations in master’s programs, research projects, company internships, scholarships, and awards.
The official agreement to establish the Chair was signed at UPV’s Rectorate by José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen Iberia, and José Esteban Capilla Romá, Rector of UPV.
José Vicente Morote highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, “This Chair is a project Andersen has embraced wholeheartedly from its inception. Andersen values its strong ties with the academic world, as continuous education and teaching are part of our culture. This partnership bridges academia and the business world, particularly in the emerging and socially impactful area of sustainability and ESG criteria, where Andersen has highly specialized teams. Collaborating with the prestigious Polytechnic University of Valencia is a source of pride for us.”
The event also welcomed distinguished representatives from both Andersen and UPV. From Andersen, attendees included Ignacio Aparicio, Executive Partner; Benjamín Prieto, Partner and Director of the Valencia Office; Vicente Sanz, Partner; and Rafael Ripoll, Of Counsel. UPV representatives included María Dolores Salvador Moya, Vice Rector of Employment and Lifelong Learning; María del Mar Marín Sánchez, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Malak Kubessi, Director of Corporate and Employment Relations; and Carlos Ripoll, Delegate Director of the Rector’s Office.
This partnership underscores the shared commitment of Andersen and UPV to advancing sustainability and integrating innovative approaches to regulated markets through education and research.
