Launch of the Tax Commission by WLW
Women in a Legal World (WLW) has launched its Tax Commission to promote diversity and best practice in the tax field The gathering, in the iconic PwC Tower in Madrid, brought together leading figures in the fiscal sector, predominantly women, fostering an environment of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment.
The establishment of a Tax Commission marks a pivotal step toward consolidating women’s leadership in critical economic sectors, including taxation. “This initiative embodies our commitment to amplifying the voices of women in fields where their impact is increasingly essential,” remarked María Pardo de Vera, a member of WLW’s Board of Directors. The Tax Commission has already begun its work through dedicated working groups, signaling its proactive approach even before its formal inauguration.

The Tax Commission was introduced by its founding members: Aida Martínez, Deepa Daryanani, and Gabriela Bergareche, all key figures within WLW. With a diverse roster of influential professionals, the Commission is poised to play a central role in fostering best practices and enhancing the fiscal environment.
The event’s highlight was a roundtable discussion on fiscal litigation, featuring renowned experts from various perspectives within the field: as Virginia Muñoz, Head of the Collection Department, AEAT, Begoña García Rozado, Global Tax Director, IBERDROLA, Sandra González de Lara, Coordinator, Technical Administrative Litigation Office, Supreme Court of Spain and Gabriela Bergareche, Corporate Tax Director, PwC.
