EY Abogados advises on the acquisition of the tech company Besoccer

EY Abogados has advised the Czech media company Livesport in the acquisition of the Spanish tech company Besoccer.

The transaction marks a significant event in the Spanish and Malaga tech startup ecosystem. The founder and majority shareholder, Manuel Heredia, will step down from management but will remain as an advisor to the board. The financial details of the transaction are confidential.

Livesport, owner of the live sports information giant Flashscore, acquires Besoccer to strengthen its coverage in Spanish and French-speaking markets. Besoccer boasts 25 million unique monthly users and an app with over 100 million downloads. The acquisition includes 100% of the group, comprising BeSoccer, Resultados de Fútbol, and the data exploitation division BeSoccer Pro.

EY provided legal advice on the transaction and conducted the due diligence. The firm team in charge of the closing of the transaction was led by Rafael Medina (Partner), Raquel Barrientos (Director) and Laura Aragoneses (Manager). Anil Bharwani Alwani (Partner), Raul Luis Garcia Gonzalez (Partner) and their respective teams also participated in the due diligence.
