Inhouse Community Day 2024

Iberian Lawyer celebrates today, 5th November, its Inhouse Community Day 2024 at the Hotel Wellington in Madrid. The event brings together leading lawyers, general counsels, legal directors, and executives from top national and international companies to address key trends and strategic decisions for in-house legal departments.

This year’s event will explore core aspects of legal department management, such as the decision to internalize versus outsource services, how to justify budget requests, and the impact of technology on conflict resolution efficiency.

Aldo Scaringella, CEO of LC Publishing Group, opened the event, welcoming attendees to a day dedicated to knowledge sharing and strategic insights. The opening speech was delivered by Elisabet Rojano-Vendrell, Legal Director for Spain and Latin America at MENARINI Group and Country Representative for ACC Europe in Spain, who highlighted the increasing role of legal departments in shaping business outcomes.

The event will feature three roundtable discussions centered on the event theme, Inhouse Community Day 2024:

Round Table I: “To Internalise or to Outsource? The Core Practices of Legal Affairs Departments”

This session, moderated by Ilaria Iaquinta, Editor-in-Chief of Iberian Lawyer, will examine the pros and cons of internalizing versus outsourcing key legal functions. Panelists will share insights on how to balance resources effectively within legal departments. Moderated by Glória Paiva, Journalist at Iberian Lawyer, this panel will focus on strategies for presenting and justifying budget needs to management, ensuring legal teams have the resources necessary to operate effectively. Round Table III: “Technology for Conflict Resolution: Improving Timeline and Efficiency”

This final session, moderated by Julia Gil, Journalist at Iberian Lawyer and Financecommunity.es, will discuss the role of technology in resolving conflicts, focusing on how legal departments can leverage digital tools to enhance timelines and results. It will be attended by José María Balboa, General Legal & Compliance Counsel, Inetum; Lucia Conde, Head of Legal Spain, Huawei Consumer Business Group; Julia García Navarro, Head of Legal, Risk & Insurance, Transfesa Logistics; and Borja Romero Rodríguez, Country Leader Litigation Spain, BBVA.

The event will conclude with a light lunch, providing an opportunity for further networking and exchange of ideas among attendees.
